To provide lawyers with the means to digitise their work agenda, i.e. to provide everything necessary for electronic communication with courts and other public authorities. At the same time, prepare for lawyers ID cards that will be used not only for their identification but also for the creation of qualified electronic signatures.

Other requirements included tools that would enable them to carry out authorised document conversion in accordance with the legislation in force. This solution requires the use of a qualified electronic signature validation service for documents and electronic time stamps.

Key benefits for lawyers

  • One card allowing both identification and electronic signing
  • Time savings when using electronic communication
  • Savings in postage and paper costs
  • More time to process agendas, online filing is possible at any time

The digitisation of legal agendas is another important step in the comprehensive eJustice project. Using a qualified mandate certificate on an electronic document always creates a qualified electronic signature, which has the legal weight of a handwritten signature and is therefore equivalent to a signature on paper documents.

Our contribution

In cooperation with the SAK, we have designed a new attorney card that meets the requirements both in terms of its identifying features and its use for electronic signing of documents. This new solution provided savings in the form of a single card that integrates the required functionality. For authorized document conversion, we provide a qualified electronic document signature validation service and electronic time stamps.
