PAdES B-B signature level setting instructions

This is a guaranteed electronic signature according to eIDAS, PAdES format: B-B (i.e. the electronic signature does not contain an embedded time stamp) and the use of a signature certificate on a qualified device (e.g. a smart card) is not required.

After opening Adobe Reader, click on "Menu" and select "Preferences". A new window will open, see image below, in the "Signatures" box select "Next" next to Create and Appearance .

Here, as shown in the image below, click on Default Signature Format and select "CAdES Extension Equivalent" from the list . Then click OK and you are all set.
