Instructions for setting the PAdES B-B signature level - MacOS 

It is an advanced electronic signature according to eIDAS, PAdES: B-B format (i.e. the electronic signature does not contain a nested time stamp) and it is not required to use a signature certificate on a qualified device (e.g. a smart card). 

Once Adobe Reader is open, click on "Acrobat Reader" in the upper left corner and select "Preferences".

In the left column, click on "Signatures". On the right side, we will see four options. For the first of the options offered "Creation & Appearance", click on "More".

In the newly opened window, expand the selection under "Default Signing Format", where you select "CAdES -Equivalent" from the options offered. Save the settings with the "OK" button.
