Notarial Chamber of the Czech Republic
The project aims to digitize the establishment of commercial companies so that the entire process of drawing up a notarial deed can be carried out online, securely and without the need to physically visit a notary's office. The solution allows participants to enter a secure virtual meeting room, verify their identity, discuss the content of the notarial deed with a notary via video conference and sign documents with a qualified signature.
The service is primarily intended for online establishment of a limited liability company, but also supports selected changes to existing commercial companies or cooperatives, such as changing the executive director, registered office, business name, partnership agreement or share capital. After completing the process, the notary can also ensure entry in the Commercial Register.
Key benefits for clients and notaries
- Establishment of a limited liability company online without a physical visit to the notary's office
- Videoconferencing in a secure virtual space "Jednačka"
- Electronic signature of documents as part of the digital process
- Possibility of issuing a certificate for electronic signature directly online at selected notaries and using it for other agendas outside the NKČR
- Faster and more comfortable processing of the founding agenda
Online notarial deed preserves legal certainty and best practices of face-to-face negotiations, but at the same time transfers the entire process to a digital environment. The client can choose a specific notary, or use automatic assignment from the list of online notaries, fill in the necessary information about the future company and then discuss and sign the documents remotely.
Our contribution
I.CA participates in the solution as a provider of trust-building services for electronic signing. As part of the online process, it is possible to issue a qualified certificate for electronic signature at selected notaries if the client does not yet have one. The process also uses the document signing component supplied by I.CA to technically ensure the signature.
The NKČR will also support the issuance of a qualified certificate for the I.CA RemoteSign service, i.e. for creating electronic signatures remotely on a mobile device. From 2027, support for the issuance of qualified certificates to foreign entities is also planned, which will further open up the online notary services of the Czech Republic to cross-border use.
The solution thus connects the legal process of notarial registration, remote client identification, secure videoconferencing, qualified electronic signing and, newly, the possibility of using remote signing via the I.CA RemoteSign service into one practical digital scenario.
