První certifikační autorita, a.s. acquired the accreditation for the performance of the activities of an accredited provider of certification services under Act No. 227/2000 Coll. on electronic signatures, as amended. The most important enactments for the activity of an accredited provider of certification services are therefore the Electronic Signatures Act and the relevant Regulations:

On  September 19, 2016  came into effect Act no. 297/2016 Coll., on services creating confidence for electronic transactions, which was adopted to ensure compliance of the Czech legislation with the European Parliament and Council Regulation (EU) no. 910/2014 on electronic identification and confidence building services for electronic transactions in the internal market and repealing Directive 1999/93 / EC / eIDAS).

This Act repeals the Act no. 227/2000 Coll., On electronic signature and Decree no. 378/2006 Coll. and no. 212/2012 Coll.


On July 1, 2016 came into effect a regulation of the European Parliament and the Council on electronic identification and trust services, generating no. 910/2014 - short eIDAS regulation. I.CA as an accredited certification service provider, pursuant to Regulation eIDAS becoming a qualified provider of services to create a trust for the service of issuing qualified certificates for electronic signatures.
