První certifikační autorita,a.s. (I.CA) was established in 2001 as a subsidiary company of PVT, Inc. Took over from the parent company, all activities relating to the provision of certification services, which was within the PVT, Inc. operated since 1996.

I.CA in 2001, the first in the Czech Republic, obtained the certificate of accredited certification service provider within the meaning of the Act no. 227/2000 Coll., on electronic signature. In 2006 I.CA also received accreditation for issuing qualified system certificates and qualified time stamps, as well as accreditation for issuing qualified certificates and timestamps in Slovak republic.

Effectiveness of EU regulation no. 910/2014 on electronic identification and trust services for creating electronic transactions in the internal market (eIDAS) is I.CA became a qualified trust service provider within the EU.

I.CA is currently the largest provider of comprehensive services of issuing and managing certificates in the Czech and Slovak Republics. The main focus of our company is to provide activities directly related to the provision of certification services and time authority.
