01.02.2019		I.CA and EU regulation No 910/2014 eIDAS On 1 July 2016, Regulation No 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council on electronic identification and trust services for electronic transactions in the internal market -eIDAS - entered into force.
I.CA, as an accredited certification service provider, has become a qualified trust service provider under the eIDAS Regulation for the service of issuing qualified certificates for electronic signatures. Newly, I.CA has started issuing qualified certificates for electronic seals, which are designed for creating electronic seals and qualified electronic seals. Qualified certificates for electronic seals replace electronic marks and are issued only to legal entities and public authorities. Qualified timestamps remain unchanged, only changing their name to qualified electronic timestamps, and must be issued by a qualified trust service provider for the Qualified Certification Service (I.CA). I.CA continues to issue qualified means for creating qualified electronic signatures (QESCD), namely Starcos 3.0, 3.2 and 3.5 smart cards. Only with the use of QESCD is it possible to create a qualified electronic signature that has a legal effect equivalent to a handwritten signature and is recognized in all EU Member States.
