Certificates

Qualified Certificate

The Qualified certificate has been created to meet all current requirements given by legislation, especially by the Electronic signature Act ( Act No. 227/2000 on electronic signature and changes of some other acts  within the meaning of the Act No.226/2002 Coll). It is especially suitable for communication among citizens, statutory bodies or local government and also for commercial institutions. The qualified certificate is useful for all citizens, authorities and also doctors, lawyers or firms when communicating with the Czech social security office, tax offices, insurance companies, customs etc.

Using the qualified certificate means significant timesavings and flexibility for firms and users (i.e. it is not necessary to deal with the necessary matters within the official opening hours only).

From a technological point of view, the qualified certificate can be used for the following purposes:

    - creating of electronic signature

    - verifying of electronic signatures

    - ensuring the irrecusability of responsibility ( connection between the person creating the electronic signature and the document)

Commercial Certificate

The commercial certificate is suitable for closed systems where there a contract is conducted between the participants explaining the terms and conditions of the communication. In such a case it can be used for generating the electronic signature.

At present the commercial certificates are useful for the situations where, according to the current legislation, qualified certificates cannot be used, such as encoding or authentication.

TWINS

TWINS is a trade name for the product which is a combination of a qualified and commercial certificate. Its aim is to offer a customer the possibility to render services of the electronic signature, authentication and encoding according to the current government law and code while keeping top user’s comfort.

e-Me

If you are looking for a high standard product with wide range of use, you are looking for e-Me. The product called electronic me- “e-Me” is a combination of a TWINS product and a high quality chip card (Starcos 3.0). .

The aim of e-Me is to provide a customer with a TWIN product saved at secure media with secure access.  This type of technology disables to transfer one’s “ electronic identity” among various computers. Therefore the use of e-Me is not limited to one particular computer only.

Server Commercial Certificate

Server Commercial certificates are intended for the use of a secure communication among servers. They are issued for natural persons or legal entities provided that the certificate application has been filled in correctly. The applicants hand in the application together with their IDs to the registration authorities.

Qualified System Certificate

A qualified system certificate meets all legislative norms and is designed for a safety verification of electronic marks by natural persons, legal entities or public authorities. An electronic mark may be issued automatically (i.e. in an electronic registry designed for acknowledging of the application being delivered)

A qualified system certificate is especially suitable for automated systems using a technology based on an electronic signature without the participation of a particular natural person (e.g. electronic invoicing, sending e-mail in bulk etc.)

A qualified system certificate should be used in connection with specialised hardware facility.

Qualified system certificates may be used as follows:

    (the data is optional when applying for a qualified certificate)

    - creating an electronic mark

    - verifying of electronic marks

    - secure verifying of electronic marks

    - ensuring the irrecusability of responsibility (connection between the person creating the electronic signature and the document )

Test Certificate

Test certificates are used for checking the performance ability of technology applied when creating an electronic signature.

Test certificate validity is two weeks. Certificates are never published in the public certificates listing and are always FREE OF CHARGE.

Certification policy is not issued for these kinds of certificates and I.CA does not carry any responsibility for any possible harm connected with the use of this type of certificate.

To ensure reliable performance of test certificate it is always necessary to install the First Certification Authority, a.s. test root certificate.
