General Information

First certification authority, a.s. (I.CA), was established using the combination of both top worldwide and domestic know-how, and teams of top professionals in the field of safety technologies and certification authorities.

Certification authority I.CA started rendering its services in 1996 as a part of product portfolio of PVT, a.s. In 2001 a PVT, a.s. Subsidiary was established which is called First certification authority,a.s. This company undertook all activities regarding rendering certification services from its parent company. At present several significant companies own the company:

• Československá obchodní banka, a.s.
• Telefónica O2 Czech Republic, a.s.
• Asseco, a.s.
• Státní tiskárna cenin s.p.

At present I.CA is the largest provider in the field of issuing and administrating the certificates in the Czech republic. It renders its services in the Slovak republic as well. In order to be able to satisfy all customers needs, it operates more then 300 registration authorities in the Czech and Slovak republic. These contact places enable ideal availability of the services. There have been hundreds of thousands of issued certificates registered up until today.

Protection of personal data Authority granted First certification authority, a.s. I.CA with authorisation for operation of authorised certification services provider according to Act. No. 227/2000 Col., on electronic signature with effect from 18.3. 2002. I.CA successfully completed the process of authorisation and was able to start rendering services in the field of qualified certificates.

I.CA started issuing the qualified certificates for communication of public authorities on 25.3.2002 meeting all requirements stipulated by law.

Ministry of Information Technologies granted I.CA with extended authorisation for ČR operation of authorised certification services provider according to Act. No. 227/2000 Col., on electronic signature with effect from 01. 02. 2006. Since then is I.CA authorizes to render qualified certification services not only in the field of qualified certificate but also in the field of qualified system certificates and certified time stamps.
