Qualified certificates are an integral part of secure communication between citizens and public authorities, at the same time are also used for commercial purposes. For users it means using qualified certificates significant cost and time savings as well as considerable flexibility because eliminating the need for personal communication with the authorities.

The qualified certificate for electronic signature and the corresponding data for creating an electronic signature can be used to create an electronic signature and authentication. Other applications, such as message encryption, is limited by legislation. Qualified certificates for electronic signature in connection with a smart card Starcos and user application I.CA SecureStore that are certified as a qualified electronic signature creation device (QESCD) can be used to create so-called qualified electronic signature according eIDAS.

Qualified certificate issued by I.CA meets all requirements of the law no. 297/2016 Coll., On the service of creating confidence for electronic transactions and regulation of the EU 910/2014 on electronic identification and trust services for creating electronic transactions in the internal market (eIDAS).
