Dear Starcos chip card users, based on current information on the potential security threat revealed on the eIDs used in Slovakia and other countries, we would like to inform you that the solutions provided by us use the Starcos series chip cards manufactured by Giesecke & Devrient GmbH, Germany.

Revealed potential vulnerability is solely a problem with the technical solution of cryptographic key generation of RSA algorithm implemented by Infineon's eID.

The relevant measures have been taken operationally in Slovakia, the Ministry of the Interior suspended the possibility of using qualified electronic signature certificates on Slovak eID for e-Government services.

This limitation does not apply to the use of Qualified certificates for Electronic Signatures (QESCD) that users have obtained from qualified trust service providers. These qualified certificates for electronic signatures can still be used within eGovernment services. This also applies to certificates issued in Slovakia by První certifikační autorita, a.s., (I.CA) through the D. Trust Certifikačná autorita, a.s.
